How to get a good logo design? How do even avoid bad logo design?

Obsolete logo

The most common problem with bad logo designs is that they use outdated technology and visuals. Back in the 1980s and 90s, effects like vintage skeuomorphism, 3D gradients, clip art, and certain fonts were overused. Now, they make those logos look extra dated.

The best solution is to redesign it if you are dealing with an outdated logo. Of course, vintage designs are on trend. However, if you want a logo with a retro vibe, be sure to do so with purpose and only use retro design elements that are currently trending in the process of crafting your logo.

Too detailed

It's not that detailed logos are bad - they're just less scalable. If you're working with large billboards, murals, or vehicle wraps, a detailed logo can be very effective. If these are the only places you will display your logo, then detailed logos will be the norm! However, you need to consider how often the logo will appear on smaller, harder-to-see surfaces.

The problem with detailed logos is that they look terrible on small screens. Things like smartphones, swag, merchandise, pens, and even business cards.

Of course, many detailed logos look great and are well-designed. But keep in mind that these visuals are wasted on small scales and your logo may be indistinguishable or even illegible.

Subject of conflict

A great logo can make your brand appear more professional. If you are a solemn brand? You can give preference to angular shapes and muted colors for a more professional look. If your company innovative and forward-looking? Be sure to consider using appropriate imagery, such as wire circuits or star grids, to communicate your brand values.
